Understanding ASD as per the ICF Paradigm

Explain the ICF framework in ASD

Question (10 marks): Explain how the ICF framework helps educators understand functioning in ASD.

Answer — World Health Organization का International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health (ICF)

Main components

  1. Body Functions and Structures:

Worked Example

Differentiate capacity and performance

Question (4–5 marks): Differentiate between capacity and performance in the ICF.

Basis Capacity Performance
Influenced by Task conditions और assessment setting वास्तविक support, barriers, social expectations और context

Apply the ICF approach in school assessment

Question (8 marks): Explain how a special educator can use ICF in an educational assessment.

Steps in an ICF-informed assessment

Worked Example

Quick Revision
