Screening, Diagnosis, Assessment and Evaluation: Concepts and Definitions

Differentiate the five related processes

Question (10 marks): Differentiate developmental monitoring, screening, diagnosis, assessment and evaluation in ASD.

Developmental monitoring

Developmental monitoring

  • Who contributes: Family, caregivers, teachers

Screening

  • Limitation: Positive result autism को निश्चित नहीं करता और negative result persistent concern को स्वतः rule out नहीं करता।

Diagnosis

Assessment

Evaluation

Apply the distinction in a school referral

Question (6–8 marks): Explain how an educator should use observations and screening information when a concern arises.

Practical steps

  7. Review the plan: Support

Quick Revision

Term Main question
